How about making us a topic, with a post telling the members about the various links to different functions in the forum:

Even a little tutorial would help them, they are all used to yahoo groups which are mailing lists. This forum is overwhelming to them. I have promised them that will like it better in time. They have expressed to me elsewhere that this sort of instruction would be beneficial for them. Tell them how to do their posts quickly. Tell them how to get emails from their subscribed topics. Tell them how to subscribe to topics. Etc.
